Samsung wins a new lawsuit against Apple

US Court of Appeals overturned a ruling in 2014 by the Federal Court located in the US state of California which states that Samsung is guilty of infringing on patents belonging to Apple which requires it to pay $ 119.6 million to Apple as compensation for damages.

Apple claimed that Samsung assaulted its patent, including "quick links" along with two other patents covering the slide-to-unlock and auto-correct. For those who are not aware, The advantage of "quick links" is a feature that allows the phone identifying data such as phone numbers and convert them into clickable links.

The Court of Appeal rejected the allegations of Apple, saying that Samsung did not violate the patent relating to the feature of "quick links" pointing out that the South Korean company uses different technology to detect links, and also indicated that two other patents cited in the case was invalid. Interestingly, the court says in fact that Apple violated one of the patents of Samsung.

In a statement, Samsung spokeswoman said: "Today's decision is a victory for consumer choice and competition back into place - in the market, not in courtrooms."
